The Kuruwitu Conservation and Welfare Association proudly operates the first community managed marine park in Kenya.  We protect Kenya’s unique tropical marine life and beautiful coral assemblages that have been threatened by irresponsible tourism, illegal fishing practices and overfishing.  The conservation site was originally started by local fishermen to regenerate fish populations but now, the site has opened to snorkelers interested in taking a peek at this underwater paradise.  Come see why John, a local fisherman, says “you’ll see miracles.”

Sea turtle nesting sites can be found on our pristine shores. These two baby sea turtles are no larger than a cell phone.
